Geger Beach, A Quiet Place in Nusa Dua

In the last two decades, the Nusa Dua region has developed into one of the exclusive tourist areas in Bali. Various five-star hotels flourish in the region, offering luxurious accommodation facilities coupled with a complete recreational experience. In addition, compared to beaches such as Kuta, Legian and Seminyak, Nusa Dua seems more exclusive because it is not crowded with tourists. However, who would have thought if in the middle of this exclusive area tucked away as wide as beautiful beaches that are open to the public. This beach is popularly known as Geger Beach.

Geger Beach

Geger Beach is approximately 45 minutes drive from Denpasar or only about 10 minutes from the Bali Tourism Development Center (BTDC). The position of this beach is on the left side of the road, just before the Nikko Hotel area. Entrance from the main road (Jalan Nusa Dua Selatan) to the shoreline is approximately 500 meters, passing through the local fishing village. In the morning, on this beach section you can find several boats owned by fishermen who are stopping by.

Geger Beach is better known among foreign travelers, especially the backpacker community. The foreign travelers usually enjoy the atmosphere of the beach by sunbathing in the chairs that have been provided or swimming by the beach. Occasionally, if the weather and wind are supportive enough, visitors will also use it to surf and enjoy the waves. On this beach also seen quite a few newlywed couples from abroad who look intimate enjoying their honeymoon.

Like other Nusa Dua regions, Geger Beach has golden colored sand. This color is a transition between white sandy beaches and dark sand. In addition, the position of Geger Beach facing east makes it one of the right places to enjoy the view of the sunrise. This position also makes Geger Beach and other Nusa Dua regions known to have cooler coastal winds, compared to the beaches facing west.

Although offering comfort equivalent to the surrounding area, Geger Beach is relatively superior in terms of cost. On this beach, visitors can enjoy the beauty of nature without having to stay in five-star hotels that are certainly high cost. The tourists can choose cheaper accommodation, such as around Denpasar and take a trip to this beach. For this reason, the beach which is managed independently by the local community is a destination for those who want to enjoy the atmosphere of the beach in the exclusive Nusa Dua area but economically in terms of cost.
