Balitraveldiary.com – Atuh Nusa Penida Beach is one of the beaches frequented by tourists in the Nusa Penida area of Bali. Its charm is indeed able to attract the attention of local and foreign tourists. No wonder this place is always crowded, both during the holiday season or weekdays.
This soft white sandy beach has a beautiful landscape. In fact, its beauty is often compared to Raja Ampat in Papua. Because it also has a view of a group of stunning coral islands. No wonder if people call Atuh Beach the Raja Ampat of Nusa Penida.
At Atuh Beach you will see four large coral islands, namely Batu Melawang / Pepadasan Island, Batu Paon Island, Batu Abah Island and Bukit Jineng Island. This coral island is the main attraction at Atuh Nusa Penida Beach.
On the white sand, you can relax yourself while sunbathing or playing sand. The water is also very clear so that when it is receding, the beauty of the underwater looks very charming. While enjoying the beauty of the beach, there’s nothing wrong if you take the best selfie at Nusa Penida Atuh Beach.
The most interesting coral island is Pulau Batu Melawang. This island is the largest island in Atuh Beach. The unique thing about this island is that there is a giant hole or a kind of coral tunnel. Therefore, people often refer to it as “stone holes”.
Local people believe that every fishing boat that will sail to the open sea from Atuh Beach must pass through the hole in Batu Melawang Island first. Even today no one dares to violate the myth because it has its own magical value.
Atuh’s name comes from a spring that is near the location of Atuh Beach. Precisely located in the west of Pura Atuh. This spring is still used by local residents.
Interestingly, despite being close to the coastline, but the fresh water does not feel salty at all. And even when the dry season arrives, the spring never dries. That is why the location of this beach is called Atuh which is taken from the words “A” means “no” and “Tuh” means “dry”, so it can be assumed which means “never dry”.
Atuh Beach is included in the Banjar Pelilit region, Pinginutan Village, Nusa Penida District, Klungkung Regency, Bali. The path to reach it by sea from the pier of Sanur Beach, Kusamba Klungkung Beach or Padang Bali Harbor to go to Nusa Penida Island.
Arriving at Nusa Penida, the journey continues using land vehicles and the best means of transportation is to use a motorcycle. At least it takes 2 hours to go to Atuh Beach from Sampalan Harbor. There is already a motorcycle rental to get around the attractions in Nusa Penida that are rented with a price range of Rp. 75,000 / day.
From the vehicle parking lot, you should at least shed a little sweat to reach the charming Atuh Beach. At least 45 minutes of your time is spent walking along the hills and steep cliffs. But your struggle with the flowing sweat will pay off when the blue sea with waves of Atuh Beach is displayed in front of your eyes.
